Odyssia Orientation-Part 2:
RECOMMENDATION... (Can be adjusted per school requirement).
• ESL class will be twice a week, 80 minutes each session. 40 minutes for ESL and 40 minutes for spoken ESL.
• Duration of ESL Modules 1, 2, 3, 4 depends upon the pace of the student. Average time to complete each of these modules is 60 hours. Duration of ESL Spoken English Module is 20 hours. Individual modules completion time much shorter based on the pace of the students.
• The log in for ESL modules will be open up to 6 months from date of completion of the class. It will expire
automatically end of the term.
• Duration of Odyssia training a Moderator two one-hour sessions.
• Duration of Odyssia ESL Spoken English person availability will be 20 sessions, 40 minutes each.
• Odyssia recommends that for each session of ESL and its ESL Spoken English! Student must work/practice
additional two hours of each post 40-minute session.
• School understands that this ESL and Spoken English course offered by Odyssia is a Non-Credit Unit (NCU). Most universities in the USA or UK may not accept them as transfer credits. A student may be required to give a test to show proficiency and be qualified to get transfer credits.
• Odyssia ESL modules 1, 2, 3 and 4 are about 12 NCU, 3 NCU each, and Spoken English is additional 3 NCU.
• Odyssia certificate will be issued to only those students paid for and registered prior to the start of the class; and have passed all the tests, quizzes and assignments along with the bench mark satisfactory progress.
• Odyssia will be remotely, help the school in setting up the blended learning classroom if needed. It will have one of its IT director available, one time for one hour, to help facilitate a smooth flow of the process of start of the Blended learning class and answer any questions as needed by the school.
• School will provide Odyssia detail information of students taking its ESL class with their name, NIC number,
address, email address and mobile contact information.
• Phase in of ESL Spoken English module within the working of other ESL modules 1, 2,3 or 4 will be at the discretion
of the School within a convenient time lines and availability of Odyssia Spoken English ESL person.
• All printed material, including work books and Placement Tests will be the responsibility of the School, Odyssia will provide soft copy of all work books and Placement Tests.
• Monthly Placement Tests will be the responsibility of the School. This will be a bench mark of monthly progress assessment.
• Equipment needed: Internet access, Laptop or desk top PC, a projector, a Speaker and wall screen. If PC is being used in leu of projector and speaker! Students should be able to get around one PC within a blended learning set up. Not more than 25 students per PC set up for optimum use.
• School is responsible for proctoring and facilitating all tests, quizzes.
• School will facilitate all of its tutors and students to read terms and conditions along with disclaimer on Odyssia website; odyssialearning.com. Once any teacher or student initiates start of a Odyssia online class! He/she would have deemed to have read and shall comply with Odyssia’s terms, conditions and disclaimers.
NOTE:
Use of Print out workbooks important for several reasons:
1. When taking the class on the computer! Need to have a workbook to fill in the blanks or exercises, quizzes, tests and assignments.
2. Working with hard copy makes it easy to learn ESL within the blended learning environment.
3. A hard copy gives the student something to keep with his or her grades that the proctor assigns based on the test results.
4. A good practice to keep a hard copy for your reference.
